Aerial Spray is a documentary about Oregon’s Anthropocene and the complex relationship between a creek running through the state’s rural coast range and Jason Gonzales, an activist for forest conservation who has made his home in these woods.  He takes us on a tour of Oregon’s hidden backroads, revealing the acres of tree plantations that dominate his backyard. He has personal investment in his mission to combat the effects of clear-cutting near his home with the need to protect the health of his family and land. We learn about Oregon’s unique natural resources and the hidden connections between the logging industry and habitat for people and salmon. Aerial application of herbicides, removal of vital nutrients from a freshwater ecosystem, and loss of vital infrastructure for salmon habitat are all missing. Are the state’s taxes are working hard to mitigate these ecological imbalances? Connection may be more than what meets the eye.
